VOTER ID is an unconstitutional poll tax on the voter; but moreover, in 2006 Wisconsin Republicans tested and found that imposing a VOTER ID requirement law REDUCES the non-white vote by as much as 20% in each state.
That's why red state Republicans began increasing the cost of a certified birth certificate to as much as $120 - effectively eliminating poor voters, most of whom are black, non-white.
The 2006 Wisconsin midterms was the first time in our nation's history that voters were required to produce a state-issued ID card in order to cast a vote.
This is worth restating: since our nation was formed in 1776, no voter ever used any ID card to vote -- UNTIL the 2006 Wisconsin midterms.
Republicans enjoyed so much success in suppressing the black and minority vote that the Republican Party initiated a full court press on implementing VOTER ID laws all across America.
Incredibly and unfortunately establishment Democrats fell for the Republican ruse and began ENDORSING GOP VOTER ID LAWS!!!!!
Trump has been lying and lying about the need for VOTER ID laws because Trump claims that illegal aliens are voting in our elections. Simply not true.
Trump knows that requiring poor voters to pay for a certified birth certificate AND a state-issued ID card will keep many poor voters out of the voting booths.
Democrats have failed to sufficiently push back against Trump's lies.
